HAMDT 47 - 97

An amendment to strike the antilobby provisions of the bill and insert new language prohibiting lobbying. The amendment prohibits the use of corporation funds for paying for personal service, advertisement, telegram, telephone communication, letter, printed or written matter or other device intended to influence any decision by a federal, state, or local agency. Communications with the such a government body is permitted when responding to a formal request by that body for information. And it prohibits attempts to influence federal, state, or local elected officials on legislation, referenda initiates, or other such actions.
